On the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly, the Resilience in Leadership & Governance Roundtable (RILR-UNGA 2026) convened under the theme “Catalyzing Effective Governance & Human Security.”
Amid global shocks, climate and environmental stress, energy and water insecurity, economic disruption, violent conflict, epidemics, and a rising tide of populism, resilient leadership is no longer optional. It is the foundation for Africa's next chapter of growth, security, and dignity on the world stage.
The conversation spoke directly to the moment: leadership's implications for institutions and business as Africa engages the world; adopting future technologies and partnerships for developmental governance; strategic public-private collaboration on education, economy, and climate resilience; and nurturing the next generation of leaders to harness Africa's demographic advantage.
This high-level, invitation-only gathering brought together heads of state institutions, diplomats, scholars, and governance leaders for a candid exchange on what it takes to lead effectively in an era of complexity.
